Health Department Sets Mosquito Traps

Due to the warm dry spring we should be expecting an increased amount of mosquitoes. Traps will be set throughout area parks and forest preserves.

Director of Environmental Health Will Hayes for Illinois says, ” What it does is allows us to know areas where we have concern so that we can put information out and say that we do have positive mosquito pools in certain areas of the county. We can give information to residents in that area whether it be we go door to door or we do some press releases.”

The Health Department is also working with some new testing equipment this year. The equipment will give it more accuracy when examining the insects. source
